Who is Lakshmi?

Lakshmi is said to have been the daughter of the sage Bhrigu. The story goes that when the gods were sent into exile she took refuge in the ocean of milk.

She was then reborn as a Goddess during the great time of the “Churning of the Ocean”. At that moment, as soon as the Gods saw Lakshmi, they all fell in love with her. They saw the radiance of her divine beauty and fell in love with this lovely Goddess energy.

Shiva immediately claimed Lakshmi for his wife. However, since he’d already taken a divine counterpart, The Moon, Lakshmi’s hand was given in divine union to Vishnu. This was as Lakshmi herself preferred. Your devotion to Lakshmi earns you the powerful protection of her divine consort, Vishnu the Preserver.

Lakshmi is known as the Goddess of Light, Beauty, Good Fortune and Wealth. While she is generally worshiped for the achievement of success, this blessed Goddess tends not to favor those who may be idle or desire her just for the wealth she can bring them.

Most people who come to the Goddess are already devoting themselves to their sacred labor or else are willing to discover what that is and then begin it. While they are in the process of finding their true path, they devote themselves to whatever path of service they are on, in Her honor.

Then why do some receive their good while others seem not to?

So too are her true devotees. They come to Lakshmi out of love, not just to receive. She shies away from anything other then selfless devotion. She considers selfless givers her own.

In keeping with my Prosperity theme this month, I want to talk about your prosperity quotient. What is that? It’s how ready and will you are to live prosperously. Now, you might ask “why wouldn’t I want to live prosperously?” and, perhaps consciously, you do want to be prosperous. However, if you have unconscious blocks to attracting prosperity, you are in essence telling the universe that you don’t want to be prosperous.

The first question you need to answer for yourself is what does prosperity mean to you? What does an abundant life look like? How much are you earning? What kind of things exist in your environment? What work do you do? Who are the people you spend time with? Prosperity means different things to different people. The definition matters far less than your ability to be in alignment with that definition. For example, if you say you want to be rich, but at the same time you harbor a secret belief that rich people are stingy and selfish, you are blocking your attraction of wealth. It makes sense when you think it because of course you don’t aspire to being stingy and selfish. The by product of Unconsciously adhering to your values of generosity and service is keeping you from living prosperously.

Now I certainly don’t wish to seem as if I am suggesting you be stingy and selfish, however, I am strongly suggesting that you REDEFINE what being rich means to you. Once your vision of wealth and the wealthy includes generosity and service (or whatever positive traits you value) you are on your way to manifesting prosperity for yourself.

Spend some time this week considering your positive and negative beliefs toward wealth and reframe the negative ones so that they are in alignment with what you see as being important characteristics that you wish to embody. The more you can envision the wealthy as people you would like to be like, the closer you are to enjoying your own prosperous life.

Prosperity is often associated with money. The more money you have, the more prosperous you become. This has become a common belief that is false.

Most of our lives, we have been taught by the our instinct and society to be “go-getters”; meaning, we have been taught to always grab the opportunity to make money as much as we can to have a prosperous living. But for most people who believe in this, seem to have the opposite situation of what they want, resulting to depression and regret.

In order to turn your life around now, let us define first prosperity. Prosperity and a prosperous living is defined as a successful, flourishing and thriving condition. As you can see in the definition, there was no term “money” used. Because it has nothing to do with the money!

The reason behind poverty among us in spite being “go-getters”, is that we are not in our prosperity state; there are perceptions among ourselves, the people around us and the world that takes away the feeling of being successful, thriving and receptive to the money to come in.

When your prosperous consciousness is awake, you are more open to the ways to make money, more effective in your job or business, open to other money making ideas, and attracting prosperity partners. Only after then the money will start pouring in, and even you might not believe how much abundance is available. The people around you will just watch you in awe.

If you want to make more money, you have to be and feel prosperous first, because people who are in this state are the ones who will attract money.

This is a simple exercise that can put you in that state, doing this regularly can awaken your prosperity consciousness.

List 10 things or more that is wonderful in your life on the top of your mind. What are you thankful for? What makes you happy everyday? What are the resources or skills you have that are you thankful for? Doing this regularly connects you to your prosperous state, opening your mind to new horizons. Do it now and feel the shift of your mind and feelings.

It’s probably a pretty safe assumption to say that most people want to live a much more abundant life. Whether it’s to manifest money , of love, or of happiness, we all want to be able to experience prosperity in its many different forms. However, many people feel as though they lack this in their life and are searching for the keys to living abundantly.

What are some ways that you can increase your wealth in all areas of your life?

1. Start becoming aware of any area of your life where you already have an abundance and appreciate it. Show gratitude for having a loving family or a good job or whatever else it may be. We all have at least one area of our life that we can reflect on and show gratitude for whatever blessings that we may have.

2. Increase your expectations of yourself and your life. Far too often, people expect to suffer financially. Or they expect to suffer with a broken heart or a lack of love. Raise your expectations of what you deserve and what you can achieve or accomplish.

3. Create an action plan to change one area of your life that you feel you need to experience more wealth in. It does not have to be just money. It can be to have more free time that is enjoyable. Or maybe to have a much healthier body and feel more energized throughout the day. Make sure that you get specific as to what actions you will take and what habits that you may have that need to change.

The definition in the dictionary for ‘Prosper’ is: a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition, esp. in financial respects; good fortune.  Everyone on earth wants to live long and prosper for all of the days of their life but very few people have yet to figure out how easy it can be to achieve financial freedom.  Today, I am going to share with you a confidential formula for attracting good fortune in every form, regardless of your age, education or any past failed attempts at generating more money.

In order for you to live long and prosper without ever having to worry about wealth again, you must be willing to abandon old ways that don’t work or take too long to learn, and be open to trying an innovative application that operates at a rapid rate.  The only reason why the wealth you deserve and desire is not already in your bank account is because you have not been told “the whole truth and nothing but the truth” about manifesting money like magic.  Commit the following acronym for M.A.G.I.C. to memory:

I have realized lately that many people who are financially prosperous want to share their secrets to wealth. A friends father recently started bringing in $140,000 a week in stock market trend trading. As his financial prosperity skyrocketed, he befriended more and more of his neighbors, generously offering his secrets so they could also transform their lives. These friends continue to meet with him at his new mansion. There are entire networks and structures of financially prosperous people offering mentorship and resources. They are available to anyone with the trust and dedication necessary for the leap to a more prosperous lifestyle. I like to think of this generosity as prosperity gifting. One such prosperity gifting structure is cash gifting. When I first came upon cash gifting, I was dubious. Was this a scam? Was this legitimate? Could I really be successful in creating passive income of $250 to $20,000+ a week? What I found impressed me. Residual Income is income that comes to you usually from work that you do once or investments that you make – such as stocks that pay dividends or real estate that produces rental income. Also referred to as passive residual income, or passive income, it is income that helps one create and build wealth.

There are many residual income opportunities that can help you build a lifetime residual income both online and off. Most of these methods for making a residual income usually involve investing your cash or starting up a business that can create residual income. There is however, a special type of residual income that doesn’t necessitate the use of your money. What is it?

Before telling you what it is let me just say that once you start utilizing the technqiues to generate this special type of residual income you will begin to manifest and attract abundance in all areas of your life. This special income will flow into your life in the form of more passive income, increased business opportunities, more friendships, better relationships, and better health. In general you will begin to manifest prosperity. You might even attract millionaires to your cause or become a millionaire yourself!

If you have done any online marketing you have probably heard of Joe Vitale. This guy has probably generated more of this special type of residual income than anyone short of Mother Teresa – at least online. What does he do that helps him create prosperity and attract abundance to such a high degree?

I see it in his newsletters. He provides useful info and sage advice on hypnotic marketing, internet marketing and related fields but he also uses the power of his list to help others. He has over the years develped a big list of email contacts. For every email that I receive that endorses a product I’ll also receive one that helps an up and coming marketer or someone in need.

I recall him discussing a visit to a magic shop in which he had received exemplary customer service while at the same time showcasing the subtle yet highly effective marketing techniques employed by that same company. I found it illuminating not only for the illustrations of the technique but also how he made sure to give a plug to the shop to help increase their business. (I also was fascinated because I have visited this same shop on several occasions and have witnessed my cash magically parted from my wallet following one of their demonstrations of magic. Magic indeed.)

For lack of a better phrase you can call this special type of residual income, spiritual residual income. Joe Vitale generates this spiritual residual income by doing one thing. So can you. What does he do?

He gives. And he give constantly. And the more he gives the more he receives. It is a cycle that repays him over and over again. And, it is a cycle that once started by you will pay dividends in increased business opportunities, more true income, and the attraction of more success-minded individuals into your life.

The giving attitude helped instill in him the notion that the universe is a place of abundance and that in turn allowed him to attract even more wealth.

Many believe that the universe is intelligent and rewards those with a giving spirit by giving them more.

Did Bill Gates achieve the massive wealth he has solely because of the choices he has made in regard to building Microsoft? Maybe. Or is it possible that the universe knew that Gates would be a big giver to charities and organizations and helped him achieve these elevated levels of success? Consider that possibility.

Talk about giving. The Gates Foundation recently announced it would spend $75-million over the next five years to create a vaccine to halt the spread of pneumonia – a disease that kills hundreds of thousands of kids a year. Most of these kids dwell in poor countries. Imagine having the ability to give $75 Million dollars to a charity and then actually doing it! Gates over the years has given far more.

But for you to start this prosperity cycle you don’t have to give $75 million or even $75. You just need to find a way to help someone. There are a myriad of ways to do this. You are only limited by your imagination. Once you start this cycle of giving you’ll begin to see the universe sending it back your way – often multiplied in power and abundance.

In one of his ebooks, Vitale discusses how he started his cycle of giving by handing out and giving away books. By doing this he began attracting an abundance of books in his life.

You get the picture. Why not start building this special type of passive residual income today? As the late great noted philanthropist Percy Ross was fond of saying, “He who lives while he gives… also knows where it goes.” Sage advice from a guy who gave away an estimated $20-$30 Million to thousands of folks over a 17 year span late in his life. What kind of legacy of giving will you leave?

You have the life you always dreamed of – the job, the family, the money; but something inside you says it isn’t enough. You used all the ideas in The Secret to manifest the life of your dreams; visualization, affirmations, and all the rest. But now that you have what you wanted, you wondered why you ever bothered. Are you at a crossroads?

That moment came for me on the day that my boss walked into my office to give me some good news. He wanted to let me know that he was ready to make me his partner and he had hired an attorney to put the paperwork together. This wasn’t a total surprise for me as we had talked about the idea off and on for about a year. It also wasn’t a surprise for me because I had been visualizing and working toward just that kind of opportunity for years.

Have you had a similar experience? Have you had the experience of focusing all of your energy on creating something only to later decide it wasn’t really what you wanted in the first place? Our minds, coupled with the power of the universe, can create anything we can imagine. We live in an abundant universe that every moment is asking us one and only one question: “What do you want?We can have everything we can imagine. But first, we have to know what to ask for.

What we are all looking for is what I call Permanent Prosperity. Permanent Prosperity comes when we take the tools we have been learning to use for manifestation and hook them to a big idea. It is prosperity that isn’t based on material possessions, but on gifts of the soul. With this kind of prosperity, we have no lack of any kind in our lives because our lives become about so much more that the things – jobs, houses, cars, and money – that we have been spending so much energy focusing on.

I have come to understand that there are three keys to living a life of Permanent Prosperity. When we start with these keys, we have something upon which to build everything else around. Without these keys, we end up just where I was on that day my boss made me that wonderful offer.

Key Number 1 – We need to have a vision. What is vision? Vision is the greatest dream we can dream for the world. In a sense, we are all like the three blind men touching the elephant. One touches the trunk and says the elephant is like a giant hose. Another touches the elephant’s side and says that the elephant is like a giant wall. The third grabs the elephant’s tail and says that the elephant is like a rope. All of them are right and all of them are wrong because none of them tell the complete story. Whenever we talk about vision, we are attempting to describe something enormous, but are doing so from our own personal and therefore limited perspective. Even so, it is still important to have a vision because it gives us the larger framework on which to hang the rest of our lives. When we seek vision, we are attempting to answer the question: “What kind of world do I want to live in?” Dream a little, and see where your vision takes you.

Key Number 2 – We need to know our purpose. We all come into the world with a purpose, a particular gift that is ours to give. The lucky ones among us find out what our purpose is early enough in life that we then create work that matches it. For most of us, we end up doing work that we chose by accident or happenstance. But don’t be confused; our work may not be the way we bring our purpose into the world – they are not necessarily the same thing. Purpose is much bigger than the kind of work we do. It’s how we show up in the world. It’s the song that we were born to sing, the gift we were born to give, and the piece of our vision that were are meant to embody. Ask, “Why am I here?” and see what answers begin to come.

Key Number 3 – We need to know who or what we are to serve. The fuel for the fire of vision and purpose is service. We need to know where and how we are to serve in the world; and we need to know who or what we are to serve. A life of service doesn’t necessarily mean joining the Peace Corps or giving away all of your possessions to the poor. What it does mean is that we deliver our purpose into the world in the service of our vision and in support of something that is bigger than our own personal selves. Service, in this context, means that we see our lives as being part of a bigger plan, a plan that is constantly unfolding and infused with love. Ask: “Who are my people?” and then watch to see who shows up.

Every moment of our lives we are creating the next moment with the thoughts that we hold and the decisions that we make. This will happen whether we consciously participate in the process or not. By creating our lives around vision, purpose, and service, we can assure ourselves of unlimited abundance and Permanent Prosperity.

I want to give you three very important keys to prosperity. I realize that volumes have been written on this topic. These are by no means the only keys to prosperity, but I think they are among the most important.

Give and Receive: Giving is such a vital element of prosperity that it is perhaps the most important key of all. Some people dismiss giving completely. Other people argue about what to give, where to give or how much to give. And then are those who fuss about whether you should call it tithing, or abundant giving, or just giving. But the bottom line is that giving is a law.

One of the reasons that people have a difficult time with giving is that they fail to recognize that what they have, God gave to them in the first place. In the big picture, all of it belongs to Him. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Now people may argue and say, “This is mine, I worked hard for it; I earned it; it belongs to me.” Yes, but where did you get the mind and body to do the work? Did you create yourself?

I prefer to call it the Law of Giving and Receiving. That comes from Paul’s epistle to the Philippians. Calling it “giving and receiving” really best describes it because as you give you will receive back. Jesus said, “Give and it shall be given unto you.”

I have been practicing this Law of Giving and Receiving for almost 35 years. It works because God set it up to work, just like all the other laws in the universe work. When it comes to prosperity and really opening the door for many, many blessings, the first, and perhaps most important key is “giving.”

Have an Attitude of Gratitude: Being grateful for what you have is an important key to having prosperity. Being thankful puts your focus on the Supplier. It is recognition of what you have been blessed with.

There are lots of people who complain about what they have. They see their limited supply and wish they had more. Their focus remains on what they lack and how it is not enough.

Before Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes, he asked the disciples what they had on hand. Their response was that they did not have enough. Certainly a few loaves and fishes was not anywhere close to what was needed. But before the miracle, Jesus thanked the Father for they had.

It is just as easy to complain about what you have as it is to recognize what God has blessed you with. It is simply a decision of which thoughts you choose to entertain. You can focus on your lack, or, choose to thank God for what you have right now at this moment.

Now, sadly, many times, this is where religion stops. People are told to stop complaining and to just be thankful for what they have, and then somehow, try and get by. That may sound all nice and spiritual, but that doesn’t pay the mortgage does it? People seem to forget that God takes it a step further.

Ask God to Multiply It: Why not ask God to multiply what you have right now? That’s what Jesus did with the loaves and fishes, not once, but twice. The Bible says that he asked his disciples to bring him the five loaves and two fishes. He took the food, looked up to heaven (meaning he was talking to the Father), and then he blessed it.

Why not ask God to multiply what you have? First, thank Him for what you have right now, at this very moment, no matter how small it may seem to you. Recognize what God has blessed you with; genuinely thank Him. Then, ask Him to multiply it.

The widow woman in the Bible only had a pot of oil and a lot of debt. God multiplied her oil so that she could pay off all her debt and have enough left over for her and her sons to live.

Another woman in the Bible was about to eat her last meal with her son and then die because of a famine. God multiplied her last little bit of food so that they ate from it for over a year.

Never underestimate the Supplier. Our job is not to try and figure out God’s job; our job is simply to apply the principles, and have confidence in God to supply all that we need in abundance.

I always marvel when I read those records of the loaves and fishes. They ended up with more leftovers than what they started with. Thousands ate and had as much as they wanted, and then there was an abundance of leftovers. It is not the will of God for you to just get by.

In these days of economic uncertainty, there will be plenty of “get rich quick” schemes that will appeal to some. Lottery sales are up all across the country. Many are hoping the government will do something to help.

Now more than ever before it is important to operate the keys to prosperity. Now more than ever it is time to give, to be grateful for what you have been blessed with, and, to ask God to multiply it.
